Components of the 

Sanford Harmony Program

Meet up Buddy Up: Students partner together to complete different discussion topics, games and challenges. Can be done daily 5-10 minutes. 

Lessons: Each grade level has four units of study that include games, read alouds and activities for students. 

Unit 1- Diversity and Inclusion

Unit 2- Empathy and Critical Thinking

Unit 3- Communication

Unit 4- Problem Solving

Unit 5- Peer Relationships

Research Connections: Each unit is tied to research-based practices for the topic. In the research connections sections of the units you can read more about the science behind the lessons

Home & School Connection: Letters are provided for parents for each unit so they can reinforce the learning students are doing at home.

Daily Peanut /Nut Free Snack. 

*Starting 9/6/22, please send your child to school with a peanut free/ nut free snack for the morning everyday. Please send your child with a snack that is easy to open and eat. i recommend sending your child’s snack separately inside his/her backpack, especially if your child brings a lunchbox/lunch bag when packing lunch from home. Please keep in mind that there may be times we will eat and work at the same time.  

Birthday Celebrations

As per the district policy, parents are unable to attend and birthday treats of any kind are not allowed to be brought to school.  Don't worry...your child's special day will be celebrated many ways in school!  

Invitations

As per district policy, birthday invitations may be distributed ONLY IF ALL students in the homeroom receive an invitation.

During Back to School Night, I will also discuss how you can join a class directory.
