Welcome to First Grade!
Hi First Grader (and Family),
I hope that your summer has been a blast! School is almost ready to start up again. I hope that you are as excited as I am to begin a new year! First grade is a year filled with fun and exciting learning experiences! Our first day is Thursday, September 5th! It is going to be a 12:55 early dismissal day.
We have Library and Physical Education/Gym on the first day of school/ Day 1! How great is it to have two specials on the first day of school!
Since the first day of school is a 12:55 early dismissal day, children will only have snack time and not lunch. Children may bring snack from home or purchase snack from the cafeteria.
Starting Friday, 9/6/24, please send your child to school with a peanut free/ nut free snack for the afternoon everyday. Please send your child with a snack that is easy to open and eat. I recommend sending your child’s snack separately inside his/her backpack, especially if your child brings a lunchbox/lunch bag when packing lunch from home.
Please complete the Daily Dismissal Form before the first day of school. The form can be found by clicking here
Thank you to those who have already submitted this form.
This will be our 5 Day Specials Rotation Schedule:
Day 1 Library and Physical Education
Day 2 Music
Day 3 Physical Education
Day 4 Art
Day 5 Spanish
School supplies that you will need to bring to start the year include:
-
two 24 packs of crayons
-
a pencil box
-
one composition notebook
-

one gallon sized Ziploc bag or other sturdy bag to protect library book inside backpack (please write your child’s name on this bag as it will used in Library throughout the year)

Parents/Guardians--Please label as many of the items as you can with your child’s name or initials! Thank you
Please keep any extra supplies at home as these will be used to replenish items throughout the year.
All other necessary supplies will be provided by me—including a Jeffrey Clark take home/bring back to school folder and pencils.
If you completed the optional summer assignments, please return to school with your first and last name written on them. September 11th is the last day to turn in summer assignments.
