Welcome to First Grade!
Hi First Grader (and Family),
I hope that your summer has been a blast! School is almost ready to start up again. I hope that you are as excited as I am to begin a new year! First grade is a year filled with fun and exciting learning experiences! Our first day is Friday, September 3rd! It is going to be a full day with a 3:20 dismissal.
We have Physical Education and Library on the first day of school/ Day 1! How great is it to have both of these specials on the first day of school! Please remember to wear sneakers to participate in Physical Education.
Starting Friday, please send your child with a peanut free snack for the afternoon everyday. Please send your child with a snack that is easy to open and eat. Children will have about 10 minutes to enjoy their snack. I recommend sending your child’s snack separately inside his/her backpack, especially if your child brings a lunchbox/lunch bag when packing lunch from home.
Please note that we are a peanut free/tree nut free classroom. Snacks are not safe if the label says any of the following: made with peanuts, made with tree nuts, or processed in a factory that produces peanuts and or nuts.
Children may bring a water bottle to school.
Lunch: Children may bring lunch from home or they may order lunch from the cafeteria. The choices on the first day of school are pizza or hot dog. Through a USDA grant, all student lunches are free of charge this year. Snacks are available for purchase.
*Please complete the Daily Dismissal Form before Friday, 9/3/21. Thank you to those who have already submitted this form.
*Please send your child with his/her optional online summer work packet if completed over the summer. This is due on or before Friday, 9/10.
This will be our 5 Day Specials Rotation Schedule:
Day 1 Physical Education and Library
Day 2 Art
Day 3 Physical Education
Day 4 Spanish
Day 5 Music
