I am so excited to have the opportunity to work with your child this year! As we begin the school year, there may be a few tears but this will quickly go away! Adjusting to a full-day scheudle is very difficult for little ones. We will be spending September getting to know each other and our new school. Be sure to ask your child what he/she is learning about in school. Also, ask who your child played with each day. The class will begin the school year by learning our primary colors! We will also begin learning letter sounds with the letters t, b, f, m, and n. The class will practice writing out names properly. At home, you can practice writing your child's name with him/her. Be sure to begin with an uppercase and keep the rest of the letters lowercase. In math we will be working with the numbers 1-5 throughout the month. We will learn how to form the numbers and recognize the number word.

During the month of September, we will be having our Back-To-School-Night! This will take place on September 24th from 6:30-8:00. The class is excited to share their classroom with you. If you are unable to make it that night and would like to come in another time, please contact me to arrange a day. After learning our new friends' names, we will begin working with each other in small groups. This is a fun way to learn our skills and become readers. If you have any questions or concerns at any time, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Let me tell you about myself! I grew up in Gloucester Township. I knew I wanted to be a teacher in first grade and have never considered any other option.  I am so thrilled to have been given the opportunity to encourage your child to learn! I love to read (Harry Potter being my favorite) and enjoy taking day trips often with my son. I have a spoiled cat named Zoey who is the stereotypical "scaredy cat".  I recently celebrated my sixth wedding anniversary in August. I have seven godchildren; five of which are boys. I have one little boy named Justin! He is two and a half and still does not want to sleep at all! He loves to dance, make a mess, and doesn't stop running!
