I am so excited to meet and get to know your child! We are going to have a great year of fun learning together. The first full week will be hard on your little one but he/she will adjust to the long days. I will be by your baby's side while they learn our routines and become familiar with one another. By the end of the month, our classmates will be like our family. I am thrilled to watch them grow socially, emotionally, and academically.

We will begin the school year with a lot of name practice. In language arts, we will begin with upper- and lowercase letter recognition before diving into letter formation and sounds. Recognizing our letters and associating with sounds is the first step to becoming strong readers and writers. In math, we will focus on the numbers 0-5 during the month of September. We will practice counting groups through 5 and forming the numerals.

During the month of September, we will take time to get to know each other and our classroom routines. We will learn all about fall. We will have fun with apples and list the signs of autumn. Later in the month, we will have Back to School Night. The children will be excited to share their classroom with you. Back to School Night will be on Monday, September 19th. More details will be sent home via our weekly newsletters.

Let me tell you about myself! I grew up in Gloucester Township. I knew I wanted to be a teacher in first grade and have never considered any other option.  I am so thrilled to have been given the opportunity to encourage your child to learn! I love to read (Harry Potter being my favorite) and enjoy taking day trips often with my family. I have one son, Justin, who will be in First Grade at Jeffrey Clark this year! He runs all day and is up all night. I have a spoiled cat named Zoey who is the stereotypical "scaredy cat" and will celebrate her 17th birthday in October. I also have a bad 1 year old kitty named Oreo who likes to destroy everything! :) I recently celebrated my tenth wedding anniversary in August. I have eight Godchildren; six of which are boys. Spending time with my family and the many children in my life keeps me active!
