Welcome to the 2024-25 school year! I hope your summer was an enjoyable one. I am excited to be back in school and ready to begin a great year! I am a Beginners teacher in the Jeffrey Clark School, and this is my 19th year working in the district. I feel very lucky to be doing what I love as a career. My intent is to provide your child with a warm, nurturing, friendly and safe environment in which to foster a life-long love of learning. I want your child to be as happy to come to school each day as I am. This first year of school is such an exciting one full of academic and social growth. You will be astounded at the changes in your child by the end of the year. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns!
A little background
When I moved to Mickleton, the East Greenwich School District played a major role in the decision to move my family here. I was familiar with the curriculum and favored it over some neighboring school districts. Shortly after my son began Beginners, I was extremely fortunate to obtain a teaching position in this district. My son has now graduated from Rowan University with a degree in Music Industry and a minor in Entrepreneurship, and I feel the education he received at East Greenwich met, if not exceeded my expectations and prepared him well for his future steps in his education. I am looking forward to providing your children with the same high standard of education.
Some things about me
- I received my Elementary Education Degree from Rowan University. But what many people do not know, is I hold a second degree in Communications with a specialization in writing. This degree enabled me to work as both a copywriter and graphic designer.
- I love the shore. I spend my entire summer in Wildwood. I love to boat, kayak, go to the beach, and basically just be on or by the water. It is my dream to someday retire to a shore community.....but possibly a little further south where it is warmer longer!
- I am married and have a son who is 23 years old.
- I am incredibly lucky to be doing what I love as a career! From the time I was little I wanted to be a teacher. But not just any grade level. I wanted to teach Kindergarten. How fortunate I am to be doing what I have dreamed of since I was a little girl!
*Communication with the parents/guardians is very important in a child’s education. If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact me via email:distefanos@eastgreenwich.k12.nj.us or you may send a note to school.
