• Second Grade Supply List

    Dear Parents,

    The second grade teachers are looking forward to September and meeting all of you! We are planning a school year that will be filled with exciting learning experiences. The children will be provided with many school supplies.  The supplies that we suggest the students bring with them are:

    *     Two large glue sticks

    *     One pair of child sized safety scissors

    *     1 package of highlighters

    *     3 different color folders (sturdy)

    *     2 packages of quality #2 pencils (Pre-sharpened if possible)

    *     A large sturdy zippered pouch or a pencil box for crayons and pencils

    *     Eraser toppers

    *     Crayola crayons -16 or 24 pack (not bigger)

    *     Colored pencils

    *     Ear buds*-inside of a clear sandwich baggie, labeled with your child’s first and last name. (These can be purchased at the dollar store!) Please do not send in anything expensive.

    *     2 packs of black dry erase markers and a sock for erasing (Fine-tip preferred)

    *     2 one subject spiral notebooks

    *     3 Marble composition books

    *Please label all items with your child’s first and last name*

    The children will not be able to use rolling backpacks or large binders in second grade.  There is not enough room in the cubbies or in their desks for these items.  Regular small backpacks will work well, as they do not need to carry many books in second grade. Please put your child’s name on everything he/she brings into the classroom.  Your help is GREATLY appreciated!  Thank you so much in advance for your help and support in enhancing our learning environment!  We are looking forward to a year filled with learning and fun!

    Sincerely,

    The Second Grade Teachers

    *Please note that your child’s second grade teacher may need each student to bring in additional supplies for his or her class.  Also, tissues, Ziploc bags (various sizes), extra EXPO markers and sanitizing wipes are always appreciated!  As the year goes on, supplies dwindle.  I may send home a wishlist later in the year asking for supplies that are running low in our classroom.
