OVERVIEW:
Our Language Arts Literacy standards will be implemented using "Journeys." Journeys is a comprehensive literacy program that includes reading, writing, vocabulary, spelling, and grammar. Our daily schedule is comprised of whole group and small group instruction. During small group instruction, we will be using "Daily 5" to practice our individual reading and writing skills. Students will be grouped according to reading level and will be given targeted instruction based on individual need. Language Arts assessments will include: reading tests (primary), grammar quizzes (secondary), and spelling quizzes (supportive).
