For literature AND informational comprehension and practice:

    1.  Readworks.org has articles and stories at a variety of different reading levels. They also include comprehension practice questions.

    2. Commonlit.org is one of my favorite sites! It has a variety of literature and articles that you can search by grade level or by theme. You can even find text sets that are all grouped under one topic that your child might be interested in. There is an annotation tool that students can use while they read. Most passages also include both assessment and discussion questions.

    3. readtheory.org is a bit trickier to navigate but is another option with both literary and informational practice activities.

    4. Khanacademy.org offers reading comprehension "units" that target various language arts skills. Units are broken down by grade level and skill.

    5.  Newsela Lite offers a variety of articles that students can use for comprehension of informational text practice.

Additionally, our school utilizes this resources to offer extra practice and enrichment to our students so they can build their language arts skills:

    1. Flocabulary.com allows students to review ELA concepts by watching hip/hop style videos. The songs are so catchy and many of our students learn them by heart-what a great learning tool! Students can log into flocabulary through their clever badge.

    For writing and grammar practice:

Many of the above sites will also target some writing and grammar skills. The following sites are specifically created to help students further practice and build writing and grammar skills:

    1. Noredink.org is a site where students can practice and apply grammar and writing skills.

    2. Mamateaches.com contains some fun writing prompts and activities that will help make practicing writing a FUN thing to do!
