Originally from Sparta, NJ, I am the second of five children. Growing up, my mother was a private daycare provider, and as I grew older, I helped care for and watch over the children she watched. After high school, I pursued a singing and acting performance career, supporting myself by working behind the scenes in technical theater. This led me to a position as an actor at the Philadelphia Zoo, where my job was eliminated, and I got absorbed into the education department. It was here that I started to integrate the presentation skills I had as an actor into a classroom setting. I also ran the overnight program, where I coordinated and hosted educational activities for up to 185 visitors per night.  I continued my museum education career as the Public Programs Trainer at the National Constitution Center, but started to feel as if I might be able to apply my skills more directly in a classroom situation. Because my parenting schedule made it difficult to attend "traditional" school, I enrolled in the mathematics education program at Western Governors University, and graduated in December of 2013. I love being in front of a class, an experience I can only describe as being on par with the feeling I get being on stage. I live in Wenonah, NJ with my three awesome children.
