    Mrs. Jessica Mahoney began her career in East Greenwich Township Schools in 2013 as the Principal of the Jeffrey Clark School, bringing with her over 10 years of experience in the field of education. In March 2020, Mrs. Mahoney transitioned to the role of Samuel Mickle School Principal.  

     After earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Sports Psychology and Sociology from West Virginia University, Mrs. Mahoney began her graduate work at Wilmington University where she earned a Master’s of Science in Elementary Education.   While in graduate school, Mrs. Mahoney began her career in education working as a teaching assistant at a Montessori School in Wilmington Delaware. This experience helped to shape her philosophy about education and meeting students’ individual needs. After completing the program and receiving her state teaching certificate, Mrs. Mahoney took her first position as the second grade classroom teacher in the Bridgeton Public Schools.  

    After a relocation to Southern Florida, Mrs. Mahoney continued her career as a first and third grade and ELL teacher.  At this position, Mrs. Mahoney was honored to be named Tedder Elementary School Teacher of the Year. While in Florida, Mrs. Mahoney enrolled in a program to earn her Specialist Degree in Educational Leadership from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton.  During this experience, Mrs. Mahoney took on many leadership roles including grade level team lead, New Educator Support System Liaison and Coach, District Technology Coach, Character Education Coordinator, Commit 2B For Coordinator, and textbook coordinator. With the Specialist Degree, Mrs. Mahoney returned to New Jersey to continue teaching in grades two and four and basic skills.  During her tenure at Swedesboro Woolwich, she was also appointed as the Lead Teacher for the Stratton School.

    Professional memberships have included Rowan Literacy Consortium, Weekly Reader National Advisory Board, Broward County Curriculum Council, Broward County Leadership Experiences and Administrative Development Program, New Jersey State Administrators Mentoring Program and New Jersey Principal and Supervisors Association. 

    Mrs. Mahoney resides in Alloway, NJ with her husband, Ed, and her sons Brennan (step), Ryan, and James Mahoney.
